Yesterday, team riders Sean Kelsey, Kristi Berg and myself raced the Loup Loup mtb race near Twist, WA as part of the Indie mtb series.
This had to be one of the most difficult cross country courses I have ever raced. Over 2,000 ft of elevation gain per lap. We did two 12+ mile laps that included single track, water crossings, rocky drops, steep switch back climbs, fire roads, and you name it, this course had it all.
Kristi was forced to pull out with a broken chain before the end of her first lap. Kelsey finished a decent 7th, and I finished in 11th. Tough day, but felt good on accomplishing that brutal course. Check out the race map/profile here.
