Melanie Lewis is the latest addition to the Cycle U - PopCap cyclocross team. Mel, as she is affectionately known as, is a very accomplished Pro mountain bike racer. This season alone she has already won the Westside Budu series as well as claiming the overall championship in the Indie Series.
When it comes to Cyclocross however, Mel is a relative newcomer with last year being her first real commitment to the discipline. With that being said she still nearly won the S.C.X. series in her first attempt. Adding Mel to our women's squad should give us one of the the most strongest women's squads in the Northwest in the Elite field. Along with Kristi Berg and Kristen Kelsey, the Cycle U - PopCap women's team should be controlling or playing a major role in every regional Cyclocross race they contend.
